When you want something from God,u don't go to God only through prayer,praise and worship. Giving can attract God,it can provoke God to come down His self. Solomon in the bible sacrificed twenty two thousand oxen and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. it moved God so much that He came to King Solomon at night and asked Solomon what he wanted. Solomon was not a righteous man, he married seven hundred wives and had three hundred concubines. but his sacrifice moved God.
When giving is not your lifestyle even when you are rich you will find it difficult to give. Giving can secure your wealth and life in God's hands,God will never allow someone that gives to Him and His people to die untimely or lack resources.
Moses in the bible was willing to give his only loved son that he waited a long time to have to God as a Sacrifice,without murmuring or complaining,these kind of sacrifice always moves into action.
